Gold Coast to Auckland.

Leaving Gold Coast Airport at  2.50pm Saturday 24th August we headed for Auckland, New Zealand for two weeks touring the North Island by car. Nothing booked except the first two nights in Auckland to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.
We placed our car into under cover storage at Gold Coat Airport Parking.
NZ is two hours in front of Oz and as we fly east the sun was setting quickly. We are flying Virgin as a code share with Air New Zealand flight VA78.
Packed in like sardines, as usual on these budget flights, we sit tight for two hours forty five minutes, Mrs Bucket (Bouquet) AKA my darling wife playing solitaire and reading, me blogging to you all and sending emails.
We arrived at Auckland safely, through customs, bags off the Carousel and to our shuttle bus for the 20 minute trip to Auckland City and our hotel. The driver was Ethan driving for Super-Shuttle and was full of fun as we listened to the Bledisloe Cup, looks like we were flogged.
The hotel is very nice, the Hotel DeBrett in High Street, Auckland:

We went out to ViaDuct Harbour, a large marina complex and restaurant district, for dinner.
Kaye had Fush & Chups, I had NZ green lipped muscles and sea food pot, yummy.

Back to hotel and Kaye showered and in bed reading her kindle, our little girl is beat.
